Horrible Bosses: are you a victim?

Throughout my career, I have come across about four horrible bosses who I've had to contend with and overcome attacks. Could their malicious behavior toward me, and possibly others, have been initiated by jealousy, prejudice, or simply a complete lack of people skills? At the end of the day, everyday, their short-sightedness didn't matter. What mattered the most was the damage these careless bosses caused and orchestrated.

Care to share your experience with a horrible boss? Have you had unpleasant encounters with a tyrant on your job? If so, how did you handle it?

  1. I want the record to show that the horrible bosses don't get all the credit. There are horrible co-workers who also share that honor. Are these people just angry at life or are they horny? I have learned through first-hand experience and through observation that people who are insecure or have low self esteem will work harder at bringing others down, defaming another's character, and flat out destroying others' reputation than spending that energy doing something positive and productive. I feel sorry for those people. They're ripping themselves off.
